2006 Accomplishments

  • Received certification from State of Texas as a faith-based service provider for Access to Recovery (ATR) program.
  • Received North Central Texas certification as minority vendor for volunteer service provider
  • Partnered with Bethany Missionary Baptist Church to hold ministers conference
  • Partnered with Bethany Missionary Baptist Church to hold conference with North Park CDC
  • Established an internship program with Hurricane Katrina refugees attending Dallas Baptist University
  • Continued partnership with Evettee College for internship opportunities.
  • Partnered with Goodwill Industries for 30 youth jobs in North Park and Dalworth neighborhoods
  • Partnered with Junior Achievement for spring businesses program
  • Partnered with three North Park community churches to provide community support and programming
  • Partnered with Irving Bible Church to provide community service projects in urban communities
  • Part of Global Day of Prayer Steering Committee
  • Designed and managed after-school program for Grand Prairie Weed & Seed
  • Provide over 500 hot meals per month

  • Partnered with Potter's House and Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship on providing Thanksgiving Baskets for 2,000 families.
  • Select by Dallas Morning News to distribute toys during the "Troy Duncan- Christmas Program"
  • Partnered with Dallas Trinity Rotary Club, to start and sponsor "Taste for Dallas Sports" annual fundraiser
  • Partnered with CDS to certify 10 staff members in Social Responsibility Training (SRTŪ), SOH's chosen curricula.
  • Started operating "Earned Income Model." Formed business partnerships that provide funding for SOH
  • Selected by M Strategies, Inc. as pro-bona client for 2006. M Strategies, Inc. is a large public relations corporation that works with fortune 1000 clients.

2005 Accomplishments

  • Received After-School Service Provider Contract from Dallas County Juvenile Justice, for At-Risk and Adjudicated Youth from Dallas County
  • Serviced over 150 At-Risk and Adjudicated Youth from Dallas County Juvenile Justice
  • Shared the gospel with over 150 At-Risk and Adjudicated Youth from Dallas County Juvenile Justice
  • Students in program had a 78% attendance rate, # 1 in Dallas County Juvenile Justice After-School programs
  • Students had a 80% recidivism rate (none return to juvenile justice system) #1 in Dallas County Juvenile Justice After-school program
  • Partnered with Goodwill Industries for Summer Job program
  • Provided Summer Internship for two college students
  • Partnered with Everett College for Internship in Criminal Justice
  • Partnered with World Vision to provided back to school supplies for 30 families
  • Partnered with Market Center and Oak Cliff Rotary Club to provide coats for 100 students at KB Polk Elementary School
  • Established a Food Pantry in Oak Cliff, South Dallas and North Dallas
  • Partnered with Union Missionary Baptist church to provide community services and support in Oak Cliff neighborhood
  • Partnered with Bethany Missionary Baptist Church to provide community support and services in North Park neighborhood
  • Partnered with Irving Bible Church and provided 250 Baskets for Thanksgiving
  • Partnered with Dallas Morning News Foundation (Troy Duncan's Santa Helpers) to provide Christmas gifts for 100 families
  • Partnered with Dallas Morning News to receive daily newspaper for Newspapers in Education Program
