First Time Home Buyer Classes

First Time Home Buyer Classes

In conjunction with the HUD and CRA funders.  Several classes for First Time Homebuyers, including budgeting and how to pick a realtor.  We need volunteers to come and make copies and prepare folders for the classes.  Education and Literacy Classes held in partnership with City of Dallas Community Court. Need teachers for classes, 1 hour per week.

Hope Pantry

This is a great opportunity for volunteers with their families to help in any capacity that they are able, whether it is clerical, cleaning out and helping to refill our pantry, inventory management, creating personal hygiene bags and non-food essential (i.e., soap, toothpaste, cleaning supplies, etc.) handing out food or general duties for Services of Hope.

More Volunteer Opportunities

  • Groups / Corporations / Schools / Individuals (Family Friendly) this is an opportunity for volunteers to help in any capacity that they are able, whether it is clerical, cleaning out and helping to refill our pantry, handing out food or general duties for Services of Hope. We always have a need that our volunteers can fill.

  • This is an opportunity for students in private schools to get their required volunteer hours. Students will participate in a variety of community events: pantries, sorting and bagging food, clothes or working mobile operations, which give back to the community. Students are pushed far across the boundaries of their comfort zones, in order to interact with people who are far less fortunate than themselves and when this occurs, you are building a bridge between the person you are and the person you want to become.

  • These are programs designed for groups of from businesses, churches, sororities, work group, affinity groups or community friends. They will be child friendly and outdoor/indoor mostly. Caring people in the workplace who want to give back to the community.

  • Classes held each month in Spanish and English. We need volunteers to come and make copies and prepare folders for the classes. Education and Literacy Classes held in partnership with City of Dallas Community Court. Need teachers for classes, 1 hour per week.

  • A celebration of bringing the community together with Government officials, businesses, media, and non-profit organizations through events to showcase the impact of community development.

  • Distribute backpacks as well as school supplies to 350 kindergartens through sixth grade students in Services of Hope’s Uplift & DISD Campuses. Location: various schools. We need donation of backpacks with schools’ supplies.

  • A fun family event that showcase nonprofits from the dfw area. The largest volunteer festival in Dallas. The host for 60+ nonprofits with hands-on projects and activities. There is live entertainment and expected 2k attendees.

  • Help raise money for Working Family Success Program- New Truck for Mobile Operations, Workforce Development, Parent Summer Engagement Camp, summer camps, food programs, and High School/College interns and support the Integrated Service Delivery Model. The Goal is to raise $50,000 and $50,000 in matching funds.

  • Experience the festivities of Halloween in a safe alternative event. Community carnival, games, food, bounces houses, and family activities. We need donations of pumpkins / games / silent auction items. We need people to setup, man tables, man games, and help design events, create a better atmosphere for events, and to help break down and cleanup.

  • Distributing more than 350 Thanksgiving baskets to local families, students, and senior citizens. Baskets will include all items needed for a family to prepare a Thanksgiving meal. We need students and their families or schools to have a turkey drive, to donate canned goods, dry goods and gift cards.

  • Distribute Christmas gifts and food baskets to 350 families. Families will have a church service, a meal; receive a basket of food and new unwrapped gifts for the family. We need companies to donate a ham, new toys, clothes and bikes. We need people to work the event, wrap gifts, come and dress as Santa to give joy to the children’s’ faces, help serve meals to the families, help by running toy drives at your place of business and by collecting re-gifting items.
